Project 4 - Ableton Synths: Analog, Wavetable, and Operator

Hey and welcome to Project 4 of learning music production!

As I mentioned in a previous post, scouring the internet for samples to use while learning is a time intensive process, especially for new producers on a budget. So to minimize costs while maximizing learning, I spent some time this afternoon watching this video from Ableton Tips on Youtube. In this tutorial, Boris reviews three synthesizers that are native to Ableton Live 11: Analog, Wavetable, and Operator. By following along with this video you can gain a general understanding of how to use the synths to make your own sounds for your music.

Tip: If you pause the video and duplicate the previous MIDI track you created during each step of the tutorial, then you can create an Ableton project that contains each preset Boris creates. I did this so that as I followed the tutorial, to create a reference sheet of basic synthesized sounds that can easily be copied and modified/built-on for later use.

Take your time, have fun, and most importantly, go make some music!
